Extrusions

CBA extrusions – profiles and tubes – fulfill the needs of the automobile, transportation, construction, consumer goods, electric, machinery and equipment industries, following the most rigorous technical specifications. This unit has an installed production capacity of 44 thousand tons/year, provided by four automated extrusion presses.

The billets for extrusion are processed through the internationally known Wagstaff Air Slip system, which guarantees high levels of quality. The process also provides high standard surface finish, compliance to anodization requirements as well as uniform physical-chemical properties.

Both tubes and profiles are produced in presses equipped with the Puller system (featuring 100 meters long extrusion beds) and automated handling. Extrusion templates employed in the profile manufacturing are designed and built in CAD-CAM and wire-erosion systems.

CBA operates a self-owned anodization unit with a 600 tons/month capacity, offering ABNT and ASTM compliant profiles in different types of finish. Besides the well-known dull, champagne and colored finish in black and bronze (dark, medium and light), CBA also offers the newest surface finish process for tubes and profiles available in the Brazilian market: the sandblasted-anodized finish. This process, which employs Italian technology, consists of directing a jet-driven blast of stainless-steel micro globules against the material, thus providing uniform and satin texture to its surface. This system eliminates stains, stripes and handling scratches.
